The project ImageHeadstart ATCZ215 brought together four very experienced partners the Institute of Complex Systems FFPW USB, the Center Telč ITAM AS CR, the Donau Universität Krems and the Polytechnic university of Upper Austria.

Ordinary users rarely receive information to what extent the image capture and storage method preserves or fundamentally changes the underlying image structure. The perception of the human eye must be deceived to get a perfect picture. This is only possible by distorting the original camera sensor signal which significantly reduces the possibility to create breakthrough algorithmic solutions in downstream technologies such automatic recognition, measurement, and similar applications from distorted data. The goal of ImageHeadstart project is to help industrial partners to acquire and understand the original digital image datasets.
